Elsa's story

I have always had a passion for helping people. While working with underprivileged children several years ago, I had the chance to meet their families and learn their stories. I found so many of their families were fighting battles and trying to overcome issues with crime, abuse, addiction - and those with mothers who had been incarcerated faced even bigger challenges. As I discovered the struggles that these women face and the lack of support to help them reintegrate; my purpose came into clear focus. My heart breaks over the vicious cycle of repeat offenders and generational pain. I've spent the last three years researching this problem. I've prayed, consulted with Christian leaders, prison staff, incarcerated women's advocates, business role models, and heads of other nonprofit organizations. This research has given us a foundation and a framework to begin building on.

Our vision

Our vision is that every woman who has experienced life-altering circumstances will have the opportunity to grow into the woman that God has called them to be.

Our role in the process is to support and provide encouragement as she begins the painstaking work to reestablish a life outside of prison. We will work to help remove the systemic barriers and help her successfully reintegrate. By providing a path to self-sufficiency, clients will learn the value of family, finances, and integrity. With your support we can help them see the power of God's transformation in their lives.

Our core beliefs

Our core beliefs come from Proverbs chapter 9.

Wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars; She has prepared her food, she has mixed her wine; She has also set her table; She has sent out her maidens, she calls From the tops of the heights of the city: “Whoever is naive, let him turn in here!” To him who lacks understanding she says, “Come, eat of my food And drink of the wine I have mixed. “Forsake your folly and live, And proceed in the way of understanding.” ~ Proverbs 9:1-6 (NASB)

Just like the woman Wisdom in Proverbs, we have hewn out our seven pillars. They are:

  • Relationship with God

  • True repentance

  • Family and community

  • Wisdom, knowledge, and learning

  • Passion and confidence

  • Stability and mental health

  • Nutrition and physical security
